Detective Faggio was a 14-year veteran of the New Haven Police Department and worked the Robbery and Burglary Unit. While en route to serve an arrest warrant, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury, from which he later passed away.

Detective Andrew F. Faggio, was a 14 year veteran of the New Haven Police Department and worked the Robbery and Burglary Unit. Detective Faggio was actively investigating a bank robbery suspect when he was called into work early regarding updates on that investigation the day of his accident. Detective Faggio and other members of the Burglary and Robbery Unit were going to serve an arrest warrant early in the morning. While en route he was involved in a motor vehicle accident from which he sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. He passed away on January 11, 2012 as a result of a complication from this Traumatic Brain Injury.
