Officer Frank Donarumo lost his life on July 27, 1964, when a train struck his police cruiser as he was crossing the train tracks. At the time the accident occurred, he was attempting to inspect some trucks parked on private property just off the highway. The 7-year veteran of the Hamden Police Department left to mourn him a wife and young son.
