Officer Knevet died as a result of injuries sustained when he as struck by an automobile while on duty.

Officer Knevet became a supernumerary police officer on August 29, 1875. On October 23, 1911, he was made a regular police officer. He died on November 28, 1919 as a result of injuries sustained on November 27, 1919 when he as struck by an automobile while on duty.
